About
Singing releases endorphins which, put simply, make you happy and doing it alongside others strengthens the effect.
Besides that, singing in harmony, sight singing and score reading (all of the skills you regularly use in choral singing) improve your musicianship. This helps with the aural test and sight reading parts of music exams, alongside becoming a better all-round player/singer.
The KTB Youth Choir Scheme is led by our enthusiastic singing teacher Kate Males and is currently accompanied by Tom Madill, one of our long-standing students. There will be opportunities to sing a huge variety of chart hits (new and old), music theatre and film songs, along with the chance to learn traditional anthems and serious choral music for memorial services, weddings, patriotic events, and of course the major annual KTB Christmas Concert at Penwortham Priory Academy.
